Join us on June 4th from 16.00 to 16.45 CEST for this webinar on “Platforms and methods for sharing and collaboration on AG2P using public and confidential data” with special guest Hao Cheng from University of California, Davis.
We will discuss novel data encryption methods that facilitate sharing of data between private and public sector stakeholders in G2P research without compromising IPR.
A collaboration between the EU-LI-PHE CostAction and EuroFAANG RI.
About the webinar
To adhere to and capitalize on the benefits of the FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable) principles in agricultural genome-to-phenome studies, it is crucial to address privacy and intellectual property issues that prevent sharing and reuse of data in research and industry.
Direct sharing of genotype and phenotype data is often prohibited due to intellectual property and privacy concerns. Thus, there is a pressing need for encryption methods that obscure confidential aspects of the data, without affecting the outcomes of certain statistical analyses.
In this webinar, Dr. Cheng will present a homomorphic encryption method for genotypes and phenotypes (HEGP) that offers researchers and industry professionals a secure and efficient approach for collaborative genomic analyses while preserving data confidentiality.
The webinar should be of great interest to anyone working at the interface between academia and industry in farmed animal research.
