Emerging species hub
Emerging Species Portal
Who’s doing genotype-to-phenotype (G2P) in emerging farmed species across Europe?
The Portal is a starting point for finding people, labs, infrastructures and companies working on G2P in emerging farmed animal species. It highlights who is doing what and where, helping you spot partners, resources and datasets quickly. This first release focuses on an initial, curated seed list; an interactive map/portal will follow.
WHAT IS IT
HOW IT HELPS
- An overview of research groups, departments, institutions and private-sector companies across Europe active in G2P for emerging farmed animal species.
- Emerging species are those with potential for expanded production and/or currently limited G2P resources.
- Covers insects, marine invertebrates, and less-established species within classical groups (ruminants, finfish, poultry, etc.). These species are key to diversifying protein sources and enabling circular-economy farming.
- A practical directory where fragmented information becomes findable—contacts, technologies, resources and datasets—especially where research is moving fast.
- A growing resource: if you work on an emerging species and should be listed, please get in touch or submit your entry.
- Find partners fast: filter by species/taxon, country, organisation type or G2P theme.
- See available resources: phenotyping platforms, datasets and tools at a glance.
- Avoid duplication: discover complementary expertise and ongoing efforts.
